The SportsEngine platform is a sports-specific technology platform, allowing leagues to provide online registration, schedules, rosters, statistics, member management, tournament software, and much more.\n\nThe SportsEngine API allows developers to programmatically manage resources within the platform. Examples of exposed resources include rosters, statistics, leagues, standings, and news articles.\n\nThe SportsEngine API is based on REST, which in practice means that every resource is accessible using a single URI and that there is a consistent pattern to creating, reading, updating, and deleting Resources. Client applications are required to access the APIs using Transport Layer Security (HTTPS). Please go to the SportsEngine website and [complete the information form](http://www.sportsengine.com/developers/#developerForm) to begin the process. \n\nOnce you are set up, you can begin to build out test data. For example, you may want to manually add a league, teams, players, and games using the standard SportsEngine editing user interface.
